Boone Pickens sends note of support to Mike Gundy (t boone pickens)

Oklahoma State lost to Oklahoma on Saturday, 62-52 in Stillwater. It's a loss that ends the Cowboys' national championship hopes and severely damages their Big 12 championship aspirations. It's also the program's 13th loss to OU in the last 15 meetings.

As far as the actual game: the Cowboys had the ball with a chance to take the lead four times in the second half, including the game's final minute with the ball at the Sooners' 38-yard line.

Oklahoma State fans have every reason to be frustrated, but THE Oklahoma State fan came away from Saturday's game encouraged and energized.

He then told the head coach about it.

He shared some more thoughts on Monday morning as well.

Gundy is by far the best coach in Oklahoma State history, with a 111-52 mark, a Big 12 championship in 2011 and six top-20 finishes, with a seventh likely coming this season.

But for years during this golden age of Cowboy football Gundy and Pickens did not speak. While Gundy will likely never take Pickens rattlesnake hunting with him, it's safe to say the cold war between the two most important men in Oklahoma State football history is over.
