Boston College reportedly filling defensive role with NFL assistant (Boston College)

After a few seasons in the NFL working with one of the top defensive players in the game, the Cleveland Browns are set to lose one of their guys to the college level.

Pete Thamel shares this morning that Bill O'Brien and Boston College are working to hire Jordan Thomas as their new defensive line coach.

He joined the Browns in 2022 and has worked as the assistant defensive line coach.

Thomas worked with Mike Vrabel in Cleveland last year, and Thamel adds that he arrives at Boston College highly recommended from the New Patriots head coach.

In Cleveland he worked with 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, who is also up for the same award this season.

This marks the second stop in college football running his own room. Before making the jump to the NFL, Thomas was the defensive line coach at San Diego State (his alma mater) under Brady Hoke in 2020-21.
