Brian Ferentz reportedly lands new job within the Big Ten (Maryland)

Brian Ferentz was a loyal assistant at Iowa under his father for five seasons before taking over as the program's offensive coordinator in 2017.

After becoming the play caller, Ferentz coached the running backs, tight ends, and then the quarterbacks.

Back in February of 2023, after a 10-win season where the fanbase craved much more from an offense that finished 123rd in scoring, Iowa announced a new contract with some ridiculous performance objectives for him to keep his job, putting a giant magnifying glass on his job for the fall.

By October it was clear that hitting the points per game mark on that contract was going to be near impossible, as the Hawkeyes lose numerous offensive starters including at quarterback, and it was announced that Brian would not be returning to the staff in 2024.

Brian has reportedly landed a new job, and where his experience in the Big Ten will be very valuable.

Multiple reports state that Ferentz has accepted an analyst position on the staff of Mike Locksley at Maryland.

Its a return to the east coast for Ferentz, who worked for Bill Belichick and the Patriots before joining his father's staff at Iowa.

At the end of January, Iowa announced the hire of former Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester as their new offensive play caller.

The Hawkeyes and the Terps will face off against each other on September 23rd at Maryland.
