It's hard to believe the Carolina Panthers have been around for 30 years, and with any stadium that has been around that long, the time has come to explore some much-needed updates.
Today, the organization rolled out their proposed plan to modernize the outside face of the stadium, as well as the fan experience.
The video shows off an impressive reimagined exterior with a park-like setting meant to provide a new and exciting place for fans to gather for sports, concerts and the arts.
Unique social spaces with views of the action and Charlotte skyline throughout the stadium are also on the docket, as well as brand new seats, redesigned concourses, and diverse concessions options are also planned.
When you look at some of the NFL stadiums that have popped up the last several years, the Panthers proposal certainly follows in the same footsteps of those.
According to WSOC-TV in Charlotte:
"Charlotte City Council will consider spending $650 million on the project. Tepper Sports and Entertainment will invest $150 million during the construction phase. The Panthers are on the hook for cost overruns and will be responsible for maintenance over the next 20 years. Those maintenance costs are estimated to be $421 million."
Renovations to the stadium could take place from 2025-29 and would not displace the Panthers or Charlotte FC.
The city council will vote on the project later this month, on the 24th.
