Kate Roll has a new one in Charles Huff's Marshall Thundering Herd football program.
FootballScoop has learned that Roll is being elevated to the Herd's Manager of Football Operations.
It's a significant promotion for Roll, less than a year after first being hired into Huff's Marshall program.
Initially the Thunder Herd's director of recruiting operations, Roll is being elevated into the position previously held by Joe Carter.
Prior to her arrival at Marshall, Roll worked multiple seasons in the recruiting department at Michigan State under former Spartans coach Mel Tucker.
Marshall, which has made three-straight bowl appearances under Huff, is seeking to take a significant step forward in 2024 after numerous staff changes in key on- and off-the-field roles, including former Texas Tech star quarterback and NFL player Seth Doege as the program's offensive coordinator.
Marshall opens its 2024 season at home against Stony Brook, led by new coach and former Western Michigan offensive coordinator Billy Cosh, before it travels for a pair of demanding money-games at Power 4 programs.
The Herd visit Virginia Tech, which lost last season at Marshall, Sept. 7 and then two weeks later travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face Ryan Day's revamped Ohio State Buckeyes.
