With South Carolina moving on from Will Muschamp earlier tonight, one of the coaches we shared in our early look at candidates for the opening was Coastal Carolina's Jamey Chadwell.
Understanding his background and the success the Chanticleers are having this season, his candidancy certainly makes sense. Chadwell has his team undefeated and ranked in the top 15 in the country right now, and he has deep ties in recruiting in the state dating back to when he was the head coach at Charleston Southern (FCS) and North Greenville (D-II).
With the news of Muschamp's firing still fresh, WCIV Sports Director Scott Eisberg decided to reach out to Chadwell for a comment on the currently opening with the Gamecocks.
Chadwell's response was a bit funny.
"Right now my wife's van has a brake light out. Im focused on trying to fix it without getting her upset. I've got bigger issues to worry about."
There will certainly be more questions from the press sent Chadwell's way about South Carolina, and other potential job openings in the future, so stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
