Deion Sanders says he's facing emergency surgery for blood clot (Emergency Surgery)

It's been less than two years since Deion Sanders was in a Jackson, Mississippi, hospital quite literally fighting for his life after blood clots developed in his foot after corrective surgery from injuries Sanders suffered as an NFL and MLB standout.

Now Sanders, still battling the ramifications of that lengthy hospital stay in fall 2021 and facing the possibility of losing his foot, is again confronting the need for emergency surgery.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show Thursday, former NFL defensive back and close Coach Prime confidante Adam 'Pac-Man' Jones told McAfee that Sanders is facing emergency surgery Friday morning in Colorado.

Jones told host McAfee that doctors had discovered a blood clot in Sanders's groin and that Sanders has been scheduled for surgery to alleviate the clot Friday at "6 a.m."

"C'mon, Coach," McAfee said. "We are going for you."

Sanders has maintained an active role in coaching the Colorado Buffaloes program he was hired to revive in December after Sanders helped Jackson State storm through the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

"I had a chance to talk to him this morning," Jones said. "He's up speaking. ...

"He's been dealing with this since Jackson State, you know he had a blood clot in his leg. Same thing with the foot and he was thinking about cutting the foot off, but he didn't.

"We through a hell of an operation. I was there. It was mind-boggling to see him go through that. I just want him to get healthy, man."
