Missouri and head coach Eli Drinkwitz have added a veteran coaching presence to their support staff.
Scott Linehan, who spent last season as the passing game coordinator at LSU, has joined the Mizzou staff. His official role will be as an offensive analyst.
"Scott Linehan is an exciting addition to our staff," Drinkwitz shared in the school's release. "He's a true veteran of the profession with experience at a variety of levels. We all look forward to working with him."
Before joining Ed Orgeron's staff last year, Linehan was a veteran offensive coordinator in the NFL with play calling stops with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings.
Linehan lasted just one season in Baton Rouge, where he was tasked with following up the most explosive offense in college football history.
Before jumping to the NFL, Linehan served as the offensive coordinator at Idaho, Washington and Louisville.
From 2006-2008 he served as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams, where he went 11-25 and was let after an 0-4 start in his final season. The first year, the Rams finished with an 8-8 mark, followed by a 3-13 season in 2007.
His son, Matt Linehan - a former Idaho quarterback, is currently a graduate assistant on the Tigers staff.
Linehan had the following to share about the new appointment in the release:
"I have great respect for Coach Drinkwitz and his vision for our program. Mentoring collegiate players is an aspect of the profession I've always enjoyed and I'm thankful for this new role. Additionally, the opportunity to work with my son, Matt, as he begins his coaching career is truly special."
