In total, Jim McElwain's staff at Florida will earn $3.325 million this coming season according to a release from the school today, which is up from the $3.215 million allotted to Will Muschamp and his staff last season.
Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins will be the highest paid member of McElwain's new staff and will make $590,000. Collins made $575,000 last year leading the defense at Mississippi State under Dan Mullen.
Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier (who made $830,000 last season at Michigan) will make $490,000 during the first year of his three-year contract. His salary will jump to $525,000 in year two and $550,000 in year three.

As previously reported, Jim McElwain will make $3.5 million on his 6-year deal. That includes a $500,000 signing bonus, and an annual retention bonus of $500,000. The more interesting details of his contract include $235k in equipment in his first year, $40k in personal travel allowances (including the use of a private jet), the use of two vehicles, $3,500 in apparel, and a group of 12 season tickets to distribute as he sees necessary.
Bonuses for McElwain include; $37,500 for an SEC title game appearance and the same amount for a bowl game appearance, $75k for a SEC championship, $150k for a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance, $200k for a CFP title game appearance and $250k for a national title. McElwain would make extra for AP National Coach of the Year honors ($50k), SEC Coach of the Year honors ($25k) and a $50k bonus if Florida finishes in the Top 10 of either the AP of USA Today polls at the end of the year.
