Ryan Day was able to get raises for four of his Buckeye assistant coaches, according to a report today.
Eleven Warriors shared the new financial commitments earlier today.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, who has been with the Buckeyes since joining Urban Meyer's staff back in 2017, has earned a bump from $1.2 million to $1.4 million. The bump in pay ties him with defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs as the highest paid assistants on staff.
Also earning raises were receivers coach Brian Hartline who will go from $550k to $600k this season, and secondary coach Matt Barnes will also make $600k this season as well. Barnes made $450k last season in the same role.
Al Washington was in the mix for a number of other positions this off season, including some interest for the Tennessee defensive coordinator role, and earned a pay raise from $550k to $600k as well. Washington was among the highest paid linebackers coaches in college football last season.
Newly minted special teams coordinator Parker Fleming, who earned a promotion after serving as a quality control coach previously, will make $300k in his new role.
Eleven Warriors adds that the staff is expected to receive their full salaries after all contracted employees in the Buckeye football program took a 5% cut due to COVID last season.
