Gus Malzahn and UCF agree to extension (UCF)

According to multiple reports, Gus Malzahn and UCF have agreed to a contract extension. 

Pete Thamel was first to share the news.

The extension is aimed at locking him in through the 2027 season.

Thamel adds that Malzahn agreed to the terms early in the summer and the new deal raises his salry to $5.5 million annually in 2026 and 2027.

On July 1, a pay bump went into effect taking Malzahn's salary to $4 million annually.

In his third season with the Knights, Malzahn has put together back-to-back nine win seasons, with this year marking their first season as members of the Big 12.

UCF is off to a 3-2 start this season, with a game against Kansas on tap for this weekend.
