Hampton University is preparing for the 2024 season with interim head coach Trent Boykin at the helm.
The Pirates, who own a storied HBCU heritage, are adding an experienced veteran to their 2024 coaching roster.
Darren Jackson is joining Hampton's staff as both the co-special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach.
Hampton, an FCS program that competes in the Coastal Athletic Association, opens its upcoming season Aug. 31 at home against Morgan State.
For Jackson, it's another stop in a coaching career that includes a pair of head coaching positions -- running the programs at both Sterling College and Trinity Bible College previously.
Additionally, Jackson is a previous recipient of the prestigious AFCA 35-under-35 leadership class.
