Getting fired sucks; but it happens in coaching. This is how you handle it if that time comes.

Oak Grove (MS): Head coach Nevil Barr has informed his team that he will be retiring after 14 seasons.

Cascade (MT): Jay Fredrickson has been hired as the program's new head coach.

Charlotte Country Day (NC): Drew Witman, who had served as an assistant under his father Bob with the program the last four seasons, has been named head coach. Bob Witman resigned in late February after 35 years as a head high school coach, including 25 years at Country Day where he won eight NC Independent School State titles.

Coffee County (TN): Ryan Sulkowski, who has led the football program for one season, has added the title of director of athletics.

Harrison (AR): Kickapoo HS (MO) head coach Joel Wells has accepted the head coaching job. Wells is a member of the Missouri Football Coaches Association Hall of Fameand has a career record of 162-92 in 24 seasons.

Greenbrier (GA): Greenbrier HS is looking for varsity assistant coaches with high school or college coaching experience. Currently looking for someone with high school biology certification. Openings for those with various Middle Grade certification may be available. No PE openings. Interested applicants should email a letter of interest, resume, and references to Greenbrier head football coach Tony Kramer at tkramer@ccboe.net.

Cheatham (TN): Creek Wood HS (TN) defensive coordinator Eric Hatley is the new head coach.

Heritage (NC): Dewayne Johnson, a 12 year NFL veteran, has been named head coach. Johnson takes over for Jason McGeorge who announced his resignation earlier this spring. Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt will join the staff as an assistant.

Fulton Leadership Academy (GA): Fulton Leadership Academy has tabbed Nick Mrvos as the new head coach and athletic director.

Marvell (AR): The school is now accepting applicants for the head coaching job. See application here.

Searcy (AR): The head coaching job is open.

Monarch (FL): After two seasons as the defensive coordinator at North Murray HS (GA), Willie Dodaro has been named head coach at Monarch HS.

Paul VI (Fairfax, VA): Paul VI HS, located in Fairfax, VA is looking for assistant coaches. Email jsebastian@paulvi.net if interested.

East Robertson (Cross Plains, TN): East Robertson HS is looking for an assistant football coach and possibly offensive coordinator for the right candidate. The school is located 25 mins north of Nashville and is a 2A school. Teaching positions available are Math and English. Huntington North (IN): Rick Barnau has been approved as the new head coach. Barnau is an alum of HNHS and served as the head coach at South Central HS (IN) for one season.

Wichita Falls (TX): Former Lee (TX) offensive coordinator Scot Hafley is expected to be approved as the new athletic director.

Middle Tennessee Christian (Murfreesboro, TN): MTCS is currently seeking assistant football coaches. Openings include PE: Strength and conditioning, History, Math, and English. Eastern Wayne (NC): Eastern Wayne is looking for offensive and defensive Varsity assistants and a head JV coach. We are looking for motivated and energetic coaches. Kenai Central (AK): Kenai Central HS has a Varsity coaching position available. Looking for either an offensive or defensive coordinator. This job has a stipend for the season. There are 3 teaching positions available Language Arts, and 2 Special Education teaching positions. Interested in teaching and coaching at Kenai Central High School go to our district web page KPBSD and apply for any of the 3 teaching positions. Oconomowoc Area (WI): OHS has an assistant football coaching position open. English and Special Education teaching vacancies are available and the administration is looking to hire a teacher-coach to be around our kids on daily basis. Successful candidate will have opportunities to coach track & field, baseball and/or wrestling in addition to football if they choose.
