Jeff Hafley leaves Boston College for NFL coordinator job (Green Bay Packers Coaching Staff)

Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley is leaving the program to become the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers, according to a report Wednesday from ESPN.

“He wants to go coach football again in a league that is all about football,” a source close to Hafley told ESPN. “College coaching has become fundraising, NIL and recruiting your own team and transfers. There’s no time to coach football anymore."

Hafley coached in the NFL from 2012-18, specializing in secondary play. He took the co-defensive coordinator/defensive backs job at Ohio State, which was enough to land him the head coaching job at BC a year later.

In four seasons on the job, Hafley led the Eagles to a 22-26 record (12-22 ACC). They were bowl eligible in three of Hafley's four seasons.
