UConn's second-year head coach has a message for all those folks disappointed with the Huskies, who are 2-9 with a home closer against UMass Saturday.
"We're a better football team with a worse record," said Mora, whose team battled Power 5 foe North Carolina State to the wire earlier this season but was blown-out and had pre-game altercations with Tennessee. "That's extremely frustrating because you see where the world is going."
The Huskies have P-5 losses against North Carolina State, Tennessee, Duke and Boston College; they also were blasted by then-No. 21 James Madison, 44-6, earlier this month.
In 2024, UConn presently is slated to face P-5 teams Duke, Maryland and Wake Forest among their known contests.
"If we’re going to play those teams and people want us to beat Duke and North Carolina State and Syracuse and Maryland next year and Wake Forest next year," Mora added, "then there needs to be a commitment monetarily to helping us get the players that can beat them.
“Because if you’re not going to help us get the players to beat them, then you are not entitled to bitch when we don’t beat them.”
