Longtime Missouri Valley head coach Paul Troth steps down (missouri valley)

After 22 seasons leading the program, Paul Toth has decided its time for a new challenge.

Troth arrived at Missouri Valley heading into the 2022 season, and made an immediate impact in the wins and loss column. That first season leading the Vikings they compiled an 8-2 record, and led to him being named the Schutt Sports NAIA Coach of the Year.

By 2006, he had Missouri Valley competing for Heart of America Athletic Conference championships and making runs in the NAIA playoffs. That '06 team finished undefeated in the regular season for the first time in decades and advanced to the NAIA semis before falling with a 13-1 overall record.

They followed that season up with a deep playoff run to the semis again in 2007, winning two road playoff games before bowing out with a 10-3 mark.

He leaves his post with a 145-96 overall record, five conference titles, and eight NAIA playoff appearances.

Missouri Valley finished 5-5 this fall.

The longtime head coach will transition to a new position with the school, which will be announced at a later date, and a search for the next head coach is underway.
