New Miami head coach Manny Diaz was the mastermind behind the turnover chain, which sparked a movement of sideline props that spread like wildfire throughout college and high school football.
The turnover chain was the original, and while it had many imitators, most all of them were for guys on the defensive side of the ball.
Well, according to the Miami Herald, Diaz is looking to break down that barrier with a prop for the offensive guys as well. The Ibis version of the Miami turnover chain from we all know and (most) love, was estimated to cost about $100k, and Diaz seems to have a similar version in mind for his offensive guys.
“There is going to be a turnover chain at the University of Miami. The question is what do we do for the offense? We did a survey. I’m pretty sure they like wearing gold chains as well.”
It will be interesting to see what the innovative mind behind the turnover chain comes up with for his offense. I'll be among the many looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
With all that said, I do remember Move over Turnover Chain, a high school has created an even more interesting big play prop
">this prop from a high school coach at Southside Charter (AR) getting some attention last July. Maybe Diaz can take some inspiration from it.
