Back in August of 2014, Louisiana-Lafayette broke ground on their new Student Athlete Performance Center, and last week before taking on Akron (as much of a distraction as it may have been), players officially moved over to the impressive new facility that houses a new weight room, team meeting room, position meeting rooms, a stunning new locker room, and training area.
Not surprisingly, the weight room is coach Hudspeth's favorite part of the entire facility, as he explains in the clip that takes you around the new building.
"The weight room, by far, is my favorite part. Coach Rusty Whitt has done a great job in designing it. We've got 39 racks in this weight room, all brand new equipment, over $1 million in brand new equipment, but it's spacious, and man I get to come work out in this great facility, and I know that our players feel the same way."
While everyone is excited to be in the new facility, Hud also kept everything in perspective.
"Now this facility is not going to cover anyone man-to-man, this facility is not going to score touchdowns, but if we use it right, and our players take advantage of it, it's really going to help our players do each one of those things." Hud noted.
Take note of the graphics around the new place and how they pay tribute to their captains, leadership committee, and former outstanding players, as well as those in the NFL. Hud and his staff did an outstanding job putting their stamp on this place from top to bottom.
