The iconic winged Michigan helmets will look slightly different this fall, but don't worry, it's not a major change.
According to Nick Baumgardner, who was at Michigan's big event where they unveiled their new gear and uniforms today, the new-look helmets will go from glossy to matte.
Granted, it's not a huge change, and judging from the reactions on social media, Wolverine fans are excited about the new change. Michigan has been rocking the winged helmet design since 1938 and has become an iconic look for the program that is nationally recognized, but it's nice to see the slight matte tweak bring the design into the modern age of college football. According to Harbaugh today at the event, alternate uniforms may be on the way as well...
