Missouri AD Mack Rhoades is leaving for Baylor AD position (Featured)

Just before Missouri head coach Barry Odom was set to take the stage in Hoover for SEC Media Day, word broke that Mizzou athletic director Mack Rhoades is leaving for the same position at Baylor. Missouri has announced a national search while naming deputy AD Wren Baker as the Tigers' interim AD.

Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou was first to break the news. Both schools have since confirmed the move.

Rhoades left the athletic director position at the University of Houston in March of 2015 for the Missouri job. Prior to Houston, he was the athletic director at Akron, and spent nearly a decade at UTEP as the executive senior associate athletic director prior to that so the Texas ties are evident for Rhoades.

Rhoades inherits quite the situation at Baylor, with Jim Grobe leading the football program on an interim basis in the wake of the scandal that has captivated the country. This seems like a good time to mention that Rhoades was the man responsible for hiring Tom Herman to lead the Coogs footbal program and spent time vetting Sonny Dykes for head jobs at Houston and Missouri.
