Nebraska's Memorial Stadium originally got its name as a tribute to the 751 Nebraskans that died in World War I.
On November 10th, against Illinois, Nebraska is breaking out "Memorial Tribute" alternate uniforms to pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of World War I and those veterans who lost their lives.
While there doesn't seem to be anything major going on with the uniforms themselves, the helmets are a different story, as they seem to have a worn leather look to them and look like football helmets of the WWI era, as you can see a bit better in the picture below.
The back of the uniforms on the nameplate feature the a quote from Hartley Burr Alexander that you can find inscribed on the Southwest corner of Memorial Stadium.
