Nevada quarterbacks coach Nate Costa has left the staff less than two weeks before the team's season opener.
The school announced the resignation, as he becomes the second on-field staff member the Wolf Pack have lost in recent weeks.
Special teams coordinator Michael Barton also parted ways with the program recently, and Ken Wilson brought back former graduate assistant Peyton Yanagi as their special teams coordinator.
Costa was in his second year with the program as an original member of head coach Ken Wilson's staff. It was his first on-field coaching opportunity after spending six seasons on staff at Oregon where he worked as a graduate assistant and offensive analyst.
To replace Costa, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Derek Sage is now coaching the quarterbacks.
The move puts Wilson's program at nine on-field coaches heading into their season opener on the road against USC on September 2nd.
