Bob Davie was rushed to the hospital with chest and midsection pain following New Mexico's defeat of Sam Houston State last night, with the athletics department asking for prayers for the family.
It appears those prayers worked; Davie released this statement today.
No specifics were provided as to when Davie will return to the New Mexico team.
The Lobos are off Saturday before visiting No. 9 Notre Dame on Sept. 14. Davie went 35-23 as Notre Dame's head coach from 1995-01; after that job, Davie took an 11-year break from coaching to work as a college football analyst for ESPN. He returned to coaching at New Mexico in 2012 and has gone 34-54 in now his eighth season in Albuquerque.
