A new cruise has been created pairing CFB fans with legendary coaches and players
Next January, around the same time as the AFCA National Convention in San Antonio, a cruise is taking place where college football fans will have the opportunity to mingle with some legends from college football's past, including both coaches and players.
Dubbed the Legendary Coaches Cruise, the ship will depart from Miami January 11th, and will provide patrons with a day at sea before docking on the island of Cozumel for a day and then heading back, arriving back in Miami on January 15th.
Coaching personalities on the trip include Gene Stallings, Phillip Fulmer, Pat Dye, Houston Nutt, John Cooper, Howard Schnellenberger, Bill Curry, Rich Brookes, and Bobby Johnson. Some of the bigger names of the players that will be accompanying guests on the cruise include Heath Shuler, Danny Wuerffel, Mike Rozier, and Gino Torretta. See the full list of coaches and players here.
The price tag for the unique experience ranges from $525 for an interior room, to $4,000 for an owners suite - which incldues a private balcony, living room, dining room, and mini-bar with butler and concierge service available as well.
Overall, this seems like a pretty cool idea for everyone involved. Fans get a chance to connect with coaches and players that they idolized on TV, and coaches and players get to relive their glory days soaking up the sun in paradise surrounded by fans. It's a true-win-win.
We know there will be a handful of coaches in our audience readying this that will begrudgingly skip the convention for an opportunity to hop on board next time around, and your livers will probably thank you for it - unless it's all-inclusive, in that case it's going to hate you.
