ACC reportedly considering a new revenue structure to keep Clemson and Florida State (ACC Grant Of Rights)

The ACC is reportedly willing to get creative to keep two of their more prominent football members.

CBS Sports shared late last night that the league is exploring a new revenue structure aimed at resolving the lawsuits with Florida State and Clemson to keep them both tied to the ACC.

League presidents first talked about the potential new deal in-person during ACC meetings last week, and those talks continued through yesterday, the report shared.

The deal includes a plan to reward programs with the highest TV rankings with an increased share of the revenue, which is something that will certainly appeal to the two flagship programs of the ACC.

Perhaps most importantly, CBS Sports shares the new deal includes a shortening of the current grant of rights agreement. Originally scheduled to run through 2036 - a major sticking point for both Florida State and Clemson, the new proposal has it set to end in 2030.

League rules state that any potential new agreement would require a two-thirds majority vote to be approved.

Back in August the mediation talks between the ACC and Florida State hit a dead end, so this might be a last Hail Mary attempt to hold onto the Seminoles and Tigers. If unsuccessful, it seems increasingly likely that another bout of realignment is on the horizon with lawsuits and court cases aplenty.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
