Air Force and Troy Calhoun bring back a longtime Falcons assistant (Army)

Chuck Peterson previously spent nearly two decades on the Air Force staff, and is now returning in a key support staff role.

Troy Calhoun and the program announced today that Peterson has joined the staff as football executive and assistant recruiting director.

From 1985-2006, Peterson wore a variety of hats for the Falcons starting as the running backs coach before moving to wide receivers and then quarterbacks and fullbacks.

He called the offense from 1997-2006 and helped Air Force capture 14 Commander-in-Chief's trophies, helping to accumulate a 19-3 record against Army and 15-7 record against Navy during his time with the team.

Peterson coached the tight ends at Navy in 2022, and held head high school coaching jobs at Orange Lutheran (CA) and Hyde Park (Austin, TX) for a few seasons each as well. After leaving Air Force, Petersen spent a few seasons at North Texas coaching the safeties.
