For the first time since the game's founding in 2000, the Army All-American Bowl will not be played this winter.
The reason is obvious and understandable -- the coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible to ask people to travel across the country for a 1-week event.
The All-American Bowl made the announcement on Tuesday, saying it intends to return in 2022 while also noting that it will still hold live commitment announcements during a two-hour special celebrating the Class of 2021 on Saturday, Jan. 2.
One would expect a similar decision will be made in regards to the Under Armour All-American Game.
Similarly, the National Football Foundation canceled its annual awards dinner, and plans are currently up in the air about how to award the Heisman Trophy.
