Like a rapper from the ATL, the Falcons dropped a surprise release on Wednesday morning.
Okay, it wasn't really a surprise. We knew the Falcons had new uniforms in the works, but they weren't supposed to come out until later this month. A leak last night forced the club's hand, and now here we are.
Similar to the Bucs' drop yesterday, the helmet (largely) remains the same while the uniform changes. I say largely the same because the switch from black to chrome face masks is a positive one. The team also says its helmet logo has grown by 30 percent.
The other big change is the ATL word mark on the helmet bumper and chest plate, a move borrowed from the Atlanta Hawks and every Atlanta-based rap song of the last 20 years.

The other move that will garner attention here is the gradient uniform -- the NFL's first -- that starts red and ends black.
Here's a better look.

Wait, sorry. Wrong photo.

All in all -- and I know I'm breaking Internet protocol here -- but I'm going to go out on a limb and say these aren't the worst excuse for a football uniform ever created. In fact, I may even like them.
Here's a look at all the mix-and-match combinations. Note the throwback option on the far right.
