Just a few weeks ago we outlined one of the most impressive FCS coaching trees out there being developed by Gardner-Webb (FCS - NC) head coach Tre Lamb.
In two years, Lamb has had six Runnin' Bulldogs' assistants get FBS jobs, including three at top Power-5 programs including Auburn, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Now, one of his guys is being plucked away by an NFL team.
Sources tell FootballScoop that linebackers coach / co-special teams coordinator Mike Gray is leaving for a defensive assistant position with the Atlanta Falcons.
Gray has prior coaching experience at NC State and Western Kentucky, and this will mark his first opportunity in the NFL.
The move continues an impressive trend by Lamb, who continues to have members of his staff hired by teams at the highest levels of the game.
