Boise State elevates Spencer Danielson (Boise State)

Update >> Boise State has officially announced Danielson as their new head coach.

FootballScoop can confirm the multiple reports that Boise State is set to promote interim head coach Spencer Danielson into the permanent role.

After a 5-5 start to the season, Boise State decided a change was needed and parted ways with Andy Avalos in danger of their first losing season since 1997.

The Broncos elevated Danielson from defensive coordinator to interim head coach, and he led the program on a 3-0 run to end the season.

That winning streak included double-digit wins over Utah State and Air Force to put Boise State in the Mountain West title game.

There, they dismantled UNLV 44-20, putting an exclamation point on Danielson's candidacy for the full-time role.

Now the 35-year old Danielson, who has risen from Boise State graduate assistant to full-time assistant with the STUD ends to Co-defensive coordinator where he worked with both the defensive line and linebackers, is poised to take over one of the most prominent jobs in the Group of Five.
