Broyles Award announces 2019 nominees

The Broyles Award -- given to the nation's top assistant coach -- announced its list of 2019 nominees on Wednesday.

They are:

To this point in the season, it certainly seems as if LSU's Joe Brady is doing an imitation of Larry Bird during the NBA's 3-point contest back in the 1980s -- he shows up, and now everyone's playing for second.

But there is still plenty of football yet to be played, and plenty of good coaching performances worthy of recognition.

The 24th Broyles Award will be handed out Tuesday, Dec. 10.
