The Frank Broyles Award, given to the top assistant coach in college football since 1996, has announced their list of nominees for this season.
65 coaches in total are listed, marking the largest group of nominees in the award's rich history.
By the looks of it, 30 have the defensive coordinator title (including co-coordinators), while 20 of those listed are offensive coordinators and 7 have special teams duties listed, and a handful of assistant coaches round out the nominees.
This list will get narrowed down to the finalists, and those finalists will attend the 29th annual Broyles Award reception and dinner in February held in Oaklawn Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Past winners of the award include Steve Sarkisian, Lincoln Riley, Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffin, and Dan Lanning.
Last year the award was won by Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker.
