The best people to take advice from are people that have had success in a variety of roles in their lives.
In Hollywood, few people exemplify like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Following a playing career at the University of Miami, The Rock went on to become one of the most famous, and beloved wrestlers in the history of the sport, and he has since gone on to a very successful acting career, and has also authored a book that put him on the NY Times Bestseller list, and most recently plays the lead in HBO's latest hit series "Ballers".
The Rock has a work ethic that is unrivaled, so when he shares some thoughts on how to become successful, people listen. That's probably why a number of coaches brought a recent Instagram post of his to my attention, and the message he shares is certainly worth sharing.
In the post, Johnson explains that he gets up at 4am everyday to work out because it helps him gain "an edge" his opponents don't have, and he encourages others to find theirs and do the same.
"I encourage you to find the thing that gives you the edge over everyone else around you. Once you find it, let it be your anchor. Then you've just created an opportunity for you to succeed."
"And that's all we ever want to work hard and create for ourselves...opportunity."
That's some really good advice regardless of your profession or place in life.
