After one season on staff with GJ Kinne, Chad Morris has announced that he's stepping away from the staff.
In fact, the 56-year old shared that he's stepping away from coaching all together, for at least a season.
Morris, who served as pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach, recently announced that after 32 years on the sidelines, he's going to spend this next fall watching his son Chandler play his final season of college football. Chandler Morris will play the 2025 season at Virginia after spending 2024 as the starting quarterback at North Texas, with previous stops at Oklahoma and TCU.
The former SMU and Arkansas head coach, who had a ton of success as Dabo Swinney's offensive coordinator at Clemson where they enjoyed a 4-year stretch dominating opponents to the tune of a 42-11 record, did leave the door open for a return.
Morris, who is 56 years old, shared that he still looks "forward to many more years on the sidelines, but for this upcoming season, I am going to enjoy being in the stands."
After being dismissed at Arkansas in 2019, Morris has had one-year stints at Auburn (OC / QBs), Allen HS (TX) as their head coach, and then at South Florida (offensive analyst) and Clemson (offensive analyst) before landing in San Marcos with Kinne and his staff.
