The hire of a new head coach usually ushers in some changes around the facilities, and that's exactly what's happening at Mississippi State.
Construction has formally begun on the new game day locker room for Joe Moorhead's program.
The new state-of-the-art locker room will be located in the north end zone of Davis Wade Stadium, and will span 11,100 square feet. The new space will feature custom lockers, seperate locker spaces for coaches and staff, a huge athletic training area, and their equipment room. On top of all that, the Bulldogs will also be getting a new 3,000 square foot recruiting lounge.
Athletic director John Cohen shared the following via the school's statement.
"Our student-athletes and coaches deserve elite facilities. This project will greatly enhance our team and recruiting operations in Davis Wade Stadium. The expansive locker room is in line with Coach Moorhead's vision of building a championship standard program here at Mississippi State."
The Bulldogs locker room at Davis Wade was previously located on the lower level of the south end zone, but that area - which was rebuilt a few years ago - will now be used by opponents on game day.
