Chuck Pagano

During his first year as the Indianapolis Colts head coach, Chuck Pagano took a prolonged leave of absence to battle leukemia. He spent three months during the season battling the disease, inspiring a CHUCKSTRONG movement across the NFL and inspiring his team to an 11-5 regular season and a playoff appearance.

Now, two years later, the best thing you can say about Chuck Pagano the coach is now that Chuck Pagano the cancer patient is but a memory. He’s 33-15 as the Colts’ head coach and led the club to an AFC South title and a Wild Card win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Beyond that, though, Pagano is still inspiring people. Below is a letter he wrote to Colts fan Alex Kormann, who lost his father to cancer.
