Coach Prime is reportedly exploring the addition of another Hall of Famer to his staff (marshall faulk)

February 7th, 2025 Update >> Colorado has formally announced the addition of Faulk as the new running backs coach in Boulder.

A staff that already has one NFL Gold Jacket Hall of Famer is reportedly considering adding another one.

Deion Sanders, who already has Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp on staff in Boulder, is exploring the possibility of adding Marshall Faulk to the Buffs staff as well, Brian Howell has shared.

In fact, Howell notes that Faulk is "the top candidate" to join Prime's staff.

Faulk, the former dynamic Rams running back was one of the NFL's top running backs for over a decade 1994-2005, has no coaching experience, but was a two-time All American at San Diego State where he ran for over 4,500 yards during a three year career with the Aztecs.

A decorated player, Faulk was the Heisman Trophy runner up in 1992 before finishing fourth a year later, and was the second overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft.

By 1999 he had won his first NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors, and won it again each of the next two seasons, also bringing home the NFL MVP in 2000. He's one of just three players in NFL history to run for at least 1,000 yards in a season and have 1,000 yards receiving in the same season.

Since 2018, Faulk has worked in the financial sector, for a financial education and services company (WealthWave), an area that Prime spends a considerable amount of time working to educate every player on his roster.

In Boulder, Faulk would replace Gary Harrell, who is no longer with the staff.

Sanders and Faulk were members of the same Hall of Fame class in 2011, and the former Rams running back had previously been connected to head coaching opportunities at HBCU schools, like Southern (FCS - LA) back in 2021.
