Coach Prime reportedly targeting Houston assistant for defensive line job (Houston)

Deion Sanders is moving quickly to solidify his defensive staff.

Earlier this week, defensive tackles coach Patrick Hill left for a position with the Minnesota Vikings.

Bruce Feldman tweets today that Houston defensive line coach Brian Early is being targeted by Coach Prime for the vacancy on the Buffs defensive line.

Early led a defensive front at Houston that ranked first in the league last year in tackles for loss (94) with over 7 per game, and they ranked second in the league in the same category last season.

He's led some very disruptive unites for the Coogs, including the 2021 season where they ranked among the country's top five in sacks with 45 sacks.

Before joining Dana Holgorsen in Houston, Early coached the defensive line at Arkansas State (2014-18).

Colorado is one of many college programs that has two coaches in place to oversee the defensive line, with Nick Williams currently listed as the defensive tackles coach.
