Coach Prime updates team on search for new defensive coordinator (Colorado)

It has been over two weeks since Charles Kelly left his role as the defensive coordinator for Deion Sanders at Colorado to join the staff at Auburn.

Prime filled out his inaugural staff in Boulder rather quickly, but seems to be far more calculated in filling his defensive coordinator vacancy following a 4-8 season where the Buffs gave up 35 points per game, ranking 124th nationally.

In an update to his team, after announcing a number of new staff members in the clip, Prime says he could "easily choose" a coordinator but is opting to be right over being hasty.

"I could easily choose a coordinator for you, but instead of being hasty I'd rather be right. Because you deserve it."

"You've got to understand the NFL is just getting over and there are still some teams in the playoffs, so not only are we trying to get you a pro, but we're trying to get you a PROfessional - either from the college or the NFL - because this side of the room, the defense, you deserve that."

"So we're going to get it right for you because a lot of you guys want to go to the next level and I plan on you guys going to the next level and I'm going to make sure we you get someone who give you all the possibilities of going to the next level."
