Head coach Isaac Collins spent three seasons leading the football program at Albright, and Monday accepted the director of admissions position with the school.
With a newfound opening at head football coach, Albright is tabbing a former assistant to come back and lead the program.
Shaun Weaver, who previously spent four seasons in various roles for the program including defensive coordinator, is returning to lead the Lions.
During his time with the program, Weaver also served as special teams coordinator, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
He spent last season as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Frostburg State (D-II - MD).
Before joining the Albright staff, Weaver spent 14 seasons as a member of the staff at Gettysburg (D-III - PA), where he was the defensive coordinator for 13 of those seasons. Additional stops for the coaching veteran include Bemidji State (D-II - MN) and Wilmington (D-III - OH), where he earned two bachelor's degrees.
The Lions broke a 21-game losing streak this fall, winning two games in a row after a season opening loss to a top 10 Salisbury squad before ending the season on a 7-game losing skid.
The last time the Lions won more than 2 games in a season was 2017, when they put together an 8-3 year.
