2018 Changes
Dimel left to become the head coach at UTEP, and on Wednesday Snyder promoted Coleman to become the Wildcats' new offensive coordinator. Dickey and Klein were given promotions as well to co-offensive coordinator roles, with Klein being named passing game coordinator.
To fill Dimel's positional duties, former Wildcat running back Eric Hickson was hired to coach running backs and fellow alum Zach Hanson was hired to coach tight ends and assist with the offensive lines. Those hirings gave Kansas State seven assistants who played for the Wildcats -- plus a head coach entering his 27th season at the school -- giving Kansas State the most stable coaching staff in FBS.
Kansas State's is also an extremely rare staff to give DFO duties to an on-the-field coach and designate an assistant defensive coordinator.
Tenth Assistant
Hanson and Hickson were hired at the same time, making either or both of them the ninth and 10th coaches on staff. Take your pick.
