2018 Changes
Spencer was not retained as defensive coordinator after five seasons in that spot and nearly a decade on staff. Gundy has conducted interviews for Spencer's replacement, but that job remains open.
Gundy has been aggressive in filling out his staff of analysts -- former Auburn, Atlanta Falcons and Notre Dame defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder is one of them -- and Gundy recently made another intriguing analyst hire in bringing in former Montana head coach Bob Stitt.
Stitt replaced A.J. Ricker as an offensive analyst, who left to become the offensive line coach at Kansas. The Pokes do have analyst positions open on defense and special teams, though.
Tenth Assistant
We expect VanGorder to be promoted to the full-time staff as the 10th assistant, but not the defensive coordinator.
