As Tim Beck continues a dramatic overhaul of his Coastal Carolina staff, the picture is clearing on the defensive side of the ball.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that new Coastal Carolina defensive coordinator Jeremiah Johnson is bringing a significant contingent from his Louisiana Tech defensive staff. Per sources, linebackers coach Cortez Carter is expected to depart Tech for a similar role at Coastal Carolina; additionally, Keelon Brookins, a former Wisconsin Badger who’s viewed as a top up-and-coming coach in the back end, is expected to coach cornerbacks, per sources.
Additionally, Tech defensive line coach Jacori Greer and safeties coach Jeff Burris, a former Notre Dame star who was a first round NFL Draft pick, are expected to also have the options to join the Coastall staff, sources shared with FootballScoop.
On the offensive side of the ball, sources tell FootballScoop that Beck and new offensive coordinator Drew Hollingshead are also overhauling that group of coaches. As we shared this morning, running backs coach Xavier Dye and wideouts coach Perry Parks are now seeking other opportunities while Beck and Hollinshead seek to bring in new faces.
