Colgate (FCS - NY) has announced a leadership change and Stan Dakosty will not return
In his fourth season leading the program, Dakosty and the Raiders went a disappointing 2-10.
After winning five games his first season after taking over the head coaching job in 2021, Dakosty went 3-8 in year two before a nice jump to 6-5 in 2023.
That would prove to be his only winning season at the helm.
Dakotsy has been a staple of the program for over two decades as a player or coach.
He spent 17 seasons on staff at Colgate, starting first as tight ends coach in 2007 immediately after his playing career in maroon and white.
In 2016 he added the associate head coach title and served as co-defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator before being elevated to head coach.
Either as a player, or a coach, Dakotsy was a part of 7 of the program's 10 Patriot League titles and every single FCS playoff victory.
A national search is underway to find the school's next leader.
