Colin Cowherd reportedly leaving ESPN (Featured)

Colin Cowherd, who hosts a number of programs under the ESPN umbrella, is leaving the worldwide leader when his contract expires, per The Big Lead who has been on top of this story for months.

The Big Lead states that while no deal is done yet, they expect Cowherd to wind up at Fox Sports. TBL notes that ESPN made an "aggressive bid to keep Cowherd, but was upstaged by Fox, who are clearly looking to make a big splash."

This moves continues to mass exodus of high priced talent at ESPN over the past six months or so (Bill Simmons, Keith Olbermann, etc...).

TBL has some interesting thoughts on what this means for both ESPN and Fox Sports. Give it a read.

Update> ESPN has released a statement confirming that Cowherd is leaving.

Statement from John Skipper:

“We’ve enjoyed a mutually beneficial run with Colin for over a decade. He came to national prominence on ESPN with his unique perspective on sports and society. Endings also bring new beginnings, for ESPN and Colin, and we thank him and wish him the best.”
