Connor Stalions steps into head coaching role this week (Detroit Mumford)

Less than a year before his actions led to the suspension of head coach Jim Harbaugh and launched an NCAA investigation and the biggest story in college football at Michigan, Connor Stalions is stepping into a head coaching role.

At least temporarily.

Stalions, who had joined the Detroit Mumford (MI) program as a volunteer defensive coordinator back around Memorial Day, is serving as acting head coach for tonight's game against Hamady HS (MI).

The move comes after head coach William McMicahel suffered a mild stroke last Friday, a day after their season opening 47-6 loss to Thurston HS according to CBS.

A timeline for McMichael's return to lead the team is unknown at this time.

Stalions takes over a team that has went just 4-24 since 2022.

Tonight, they will face a Hamady squad that won their season opener last week 32-16 over an East English Village squad that made a first round exit from the playoffs last fall.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
