When last we saw former Ohio State quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis, he was on the move from Salt Lake City to Oxford after leaving his job as an analyst at Utah for the same job at Ole Miss.
He's on the move again, this time to Northeast Oklahoma.
Tulsa on Tuesday announced Dennis as its new quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. Dennis and Golden Hurricane head coach Kevin Wilson worked together for six seasons at Ohio State, and sources say Dennis was Wilson's top target to fill the opening on his offensive staff.
Dennis replaces offensive line coach Ryan Stanchek, who took a co-coordinator job on Scotty Walden's new UTEP staff. Tight ends coach Greg Frey will move to offensive line, and offensive coordinator Steve Spurrier, Jr., will move from quarterbacks to running backs.
Running backs coach Adrian Mayes will now coach tight ends and serve as run game coordinator, while wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer will remain in that spot while adding recruiting coordinator responsibilities.
On defense, Dominique Franks has been promoted from a quality control to cornerbacks coach. A former Tulsa Union High School standout, Franks played at Oklahoma before his 5-season NFL career. Franks replaces Michael Hunter, who took a GA job at Ohio State.
