Last week, when the final coaches poll votes were made public, none of them made more waves than Dabo Swinney's.
You may recall, while the College Football Playoff committee put the Buckeyes at #3, Dabo put Ohio State outside the top 10 at #11.
On SportsCenter yesterday, Dabo defended that decision for a good five minutes, insisting it was nothing against their semifinal opponent, sharing that for him it came down to the number of games played.
"In my opinion, I don't think that it's right that three teams have to play 13 games to win it all and one team has to play eight. What universe am I living in? And it has nothing to do with them. It was about qualifying, and I didn't think they were qualified."
All of the other teams selected for the playoffs - Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame - all played in 11 games this year. Dabo insists it's nothing against their budding new rivalry with Ohio State, in fact, he shares that they are plenty good enough to beat his Tigers and go on to win the national title.
Dabo went on to share how he believes only having to break down 6 games is a game planning advantage for him and his staff.
"It has nothing to do with Ohio State...absolutely zero. You can change the name to Michigan, or Georgia, or Florida, or Tennessee, or Nebraska. Anytime are a top-10, it should be special. This year it's like really, really, really special and I wanted it to be that way."
"So, I wanted to recognize the teams that played nine games or more. And so, if you didn't play nine games, I just didn't consider you from the top 10. That's why they were 11."
Adding a bit of humor to the situation, Dabo also shares, "I could probably run for governor in Michigan and have a good chance."
