Dallas Cowboys hire one of college football's top offensive line coaches (Kansas State)

Update >> This is now official. Riley is the new offensive line coach for the Cowboys.

When Collin Klein left his post as the offensive coordinator at Kansas State for the same job at Texas A&M, head coach Chris Klieman found the solution to his opening within his staff and promoted Conor Riley to the offensive play caller role.

Widely regarded as one of the top offensive line coaches in all of college football, Riley is now being targeted for an opening in the NFL.

The Athletic shares this morning that new Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is targeting Riley for the offensive line opening on staff.

Before joining Klieman's staff in Manhattan, initially as offensive line coach before the promotion, Riley worked with the North Dakota State offensive line.

With a smash-mouth style and power football front and center, Riley has developed some of the most punishing offensive lines in recent college football history at both Kansas State and NDSU helping to set all kinds of records along the way.

In his first season as an offensive coordinator, Riley helped the Wildcats score at a clip of 31 points per game (44th nationally), and they boasted the second best rushing offense in the Big 12 at 215 yards per game.
