The tear that Dan Hurley's UConn team went on to win their second straight national title last year was as dominant a run as we've seen in college basketball in quite some time.
On the heels of building a modern dynasty, the Lakers tried to lure Hurley to the NBA with a six-year, $70 million deal but he ultimately decided to stay put in Storrs and pursue a three-peat.
During that flirtation with the Lakers job, there was plenty of chatter about whether Hurley's intense approach would translate to the NBA.
Coincidentally, yesterday while on a Yankees broadcast Hurley was asked whether good coaching can translate to any sport, and he shared he think's he'd be a better football coach than basketball coach.
"Yeah, I think the leadership piece and the psychology, the motivation, leading men through the ups and downs of these seasons."
"I think I'd be a better football coach than basketball, actually."
Pressed for why, Hurley shared "I just think my intensity, it fits football guys."
I know I can't be the only one who would love to see a successful coach in one sport take their talents to another sport to see if those skills that made them great in one sport would translate to the other.
